After over a decade of searching, I finally found it…
I recently found some photos of me back when I was going through a flare up during my high school prom. I’m not sure if you can see the reflection in the mirror (in the photo), but if you look closely, my back was all covered in wounds as well. My mom had put makeup all over my face to cover the redness and rashes. And sadly, at one point, my face had gotten at least 10 times worse than what it was like in this photo.
It kind of hurts to look back at photos like this. I remember wanting to look my best on this day. I felt so embarrassed wearing a dress at prom with so many wounds and scars exposed.
What made it worse was when all the pictures were developed and were passed around the entire class. Sadly, all my friends saw the open wounds all over my skin, and I remember my heart sinking. I was filled with embarrassment and shame.
It’s such a miracle and an answered prayer to see that so much has healed today.
